Coffee Crisis

I haven’t quite figured out how all the affiliate programs and links work just yet, so I feel like I have to hold back from naming specific products/brands … but I can’t hold back any more on a most pressing matter in my life ...

I need to talk to y’all about coffee.

Specifically, about coffee makers.

My single-cup brewer is getting on my last nerve. It will brew a perfect cup at 9:00 AM when  I am already awake and going, but at 5:30?

Nope.

It’s a half cup. Or a burned cup. Or the water basin won’t transfer correctly.

Let’s just say, we might be at the end of the road with this relationship.

The problem is: I have no idea what to replace it with!

There are so many products out there. You can read a dozen reviews per product, and they all give the same mixture of feedback ranging from awesome to awful.

I am lost. And a little caffeine deprived.

So, maybe this isn't exactly a crisis, but I feel like we're quickly heading in that direction.

The only thing I know for sure is that this momma needs a programmable coffee maker that will wake up before I do and greet my unopened eyes with the blissful aroma of hot, delicious coffee.

THAT is the kind of relationship I am looking for ...

Any suggestions?

  1. You should try the Keurig! It isn't programmable but it literally takes 2 minutes for my coffee!

  2. I LOVE coffee!!! My suggestion would be to buy a new coffee maker that is a good one, not a cheaper one from walmart, try Bodum.com! They make GREAT coffee makers and french presses!
    Good Luck!

  4. Honestly, I just love my french press. I got it at starbucks and it makes about 2-3 cups and because it's a press, it keeps all of the flavor!

    1. I think I've been a little scared of the idea of a french press. Sounds so fancy, but might be time to try one. Thanks!

  5. My favorite type of coffee is cold-brew coffee. You can buy it at some stores now and it can be served hot or cold. It's usually in the refridgerated section near the juice (at least at my Target). Starbucks sells some but I love Chameleon Coffee. =)

  8. I love my Keurig, I've had it for almost two years now. It's a normal one cup. I'll admit I don't use it everyday, but it's given me no problems so far.

  12. I haven't figured out affiliate links yet either, don't worry you're not alone. :) I have a Cuisinart that does a single brewing system on one side and a carafe of coffee on the other, I love it, but for a single cup of coffee it isn't programmable (the carafe side is). Back in my working days (so about a year ago lol) our office had a Keurig that somehow I became in charge of and would have to trouble shoot it when it acted up. Have you descaled it? Google cleaning out the needle that punctures the K-cup - basically you just jam another sharp instrument down in there to clean it out. I don't know if it will specifically repair your issues, but maybe worth a try!

    1. We are strongly considering that Cuisinart! Thanks for the tips ... we've tried everything with the Keurig. :(

  13. We had a Keurig for a year, and loved it, but we upgraded to a Verismo! We are die hard Starbucks fans, so it just fit us better. Both have been awesome machines! We also have a traditional Mr. Coffee Espresso Maker, and French Press. :)

  14. My MIL has one that is programmable and can do a single cup or a carafe. I'll find out what it is.
